Claire Ransom and Jemma Blair will make their Tasmania debuts in Saturday’s blockbuster clash with North Melbourne at North Hobart Oval.
Originally from Hobart, Ransom recently returned to Tasmania after announcing her retirement from the AFLW.
A proud product of the Tasmania Devils pathway, Ransom played two games for the Gold Coast Suns before joining the GWS GIANTS ahead of the 2024 season.
The 22-year-old featured in 11 games for the GIANTS across two seasons to take her AFLW career tally to 13 games.
Blair, a clean and skilful defender, has already proven her credentials at VFLW level having previously played five games for North Melbourne in 2021 and 2022.
The 23-year-old, who captained the Tasmania Devils at underage level, returned home to Tasmania earlier this season after three seasons playing for Bond University in the QAFLW.
Prior to moving interstate, Blair played junior football with East Launceston, transitioning to North Launceston in the TSL and later Old Scotch in the NTFA before featuring for North Hobart in 2026.
Tasmania will host North Melbourne for the first time in the VFL and VFLW at North Hobart Oval this weekend.
The Devils will name their VFL and VFLW sides at 12:20pm on Friday at devilsfc.com.au.
