Tasmania's Georgia Clark is AFLW bound, joining GWS as an injury replacement player after Scarlett Johnson was moved to the GIANTS' inactive list earlier this week.

Clark returns to the AFLW after previously playing nine games for Collingwood across the 2024 and 2025 seasons after being selected by the Magpies with the club's first pick in the 2023 AFLW Draft.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a standout debut for Tasmania in the VFLW last weekend, registering 16 disposals, six marks and two goals in the win against Geelong at North Hobart Oval.

Clark’s return to the elite level comes after overcoming a hip labral operation earlier this year.

"I wouldn't be in the position I am without the Devils,” Clark said.

“I'll forever be grateful for the support they provided me in coming back to Tasmania and throughout my rehabilitation.

"Everyone here has become a second family to me, which made representing the club last weekend even more meaningful."

Tasmania’s VFLW coach Georgia Walker said the club was thrilled to see Clark earn another opportunity at AFLW level.

"We couldn't be happier for Georgia," Walker said.

"She's obviously a fantastic player, but she's an even better person, and we know she'll continue to flourish in an AFLW environment.

“The professionalism and resilience she showed throughout her lengthy rehabilitation, and the way she worked tirelessly to earn this opportunity, is a credit to her character.

"We actively encourage every athlete in our program to chase opportunities like this, it's exciting to see, and it shows we're doing something right down here.

"We thank Georgia for her contribution to our program and wish her and her family all the very best as they embark on an incredibly exciting next chapter."

Tasmania’s Head of Football Operations, Aaron Pidgeon, echoed Walker’s excitement for Clark.

“Georgia’s departure will be a huge loss for our VFLW team, but developing AFLW and AFL athletes is a primary goal for our programs,” Pidgeon said.

“With Georgia now joining Max (Mapley) and Jaxon (Artemis) in being signed to AFL programs this season, we feel like the program is succeeding on many levels, and we couldn’t be happier for our athletes.”
