Cadbury and the Tasmania Devils have today announced a major new partnership, uniting more than 100 years of Tasmanian manufacturing heritage with the state’s newest sporting chapter.

Cadbury will become a Foundation Major Partner and back-of-guernsey partner of the Tasmania Devils, supporting the club’s women’s and men’s VFL and VFLW teams in 2026 and 2027, and the AFL and AFLW teams from 2028 to 2030.

The partnership was unveiled at Cadbury’s Claremont factory, where generations of Tasmanians have made Cadbury chocolate for more than 100 years.

It brings together two organisations with deep connections to the state and a shared belief in the power of sport, community, and moments of collective pride.

Mondelēz International President Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Toby Smith, said the partnership represented both Cadbury’s enduring Tasmanian roots and its confidence in the state’s future.

“Cadbury’s story in Tasmania began more than a century ago because of the quality and abundance of local milk," Smith said.

"Since then, generations of dairy farmers, Claremont and Burnie team members, families and communities have helped make Cadbury part of the fabric of Tasmania.

“Today, we are proud to bring that history together with Tasmania’s next great sporting chapter.

"By backing the women’s and men’s Tasmania Devils teams from the VFL and VFLW through to the AFL and AFLW, we are supporting a journey that belongs to the whole state.”

Tasmania's Chief Executive Officer, Brendon Gale, said Cadbury’s support would be significant as the club developed its women’s and men’s programs and built towards entry to the national competitions.

“Cadbury has been part of Tasmania for generations, so there is a real authenticity in bringing these two stories together,” Gale said.

“As a Foundation Major Partner, Cadbury is backing the whole club, our women’s and men’s teams, our people and the supporters who will carry the Devils from the VFL and VFLW to the AFL and AFLW.

"This is a partnership grounded in Tasmanian pride and a shared ambition for the future.

“Our club is proud to be associated with organisations that share a strong alignment in purpose and values, and we certainly feel this way about this partnership with Cadbury.

"The commitment that Cadbury are making to our club is significant and we look forward to collectively delivering great impact for Tasmanians through this partnership.”

Mondelēz International Vice President Marketing, Ben Wicks, said the partnership added a distinctly Tasmanian chapter to Cadbury’s support of iconic women’s and men’s sporting teams and events.

“Sport creates moments that bring people together, across families, communities and generations," Wicks said.

"That is why Cadbury is proud to support the Wallabies and Wallaroos, the Matildas, the Australian Olympic and Paralympic Teams, the Cadbury Marathon and Athletics Tasmania.

“The Tasmania Devils are Cadbury’s first AFL-related partnership in our current sports portfolio, and it feels especially meaningful because it begins here, alongside the farmers and factory teams who have shaped Cadbury’s Tasmanian story.

"We are excited to create generous, memorable experiences for players, members and supporters as the Club grows.”

The Cadbury brand will feature on the back of the Tasmania Devils guernsey.

Further community and supporter initiatives will be announced as the partnership develops.

Tasmania's General Manager of Commercial and Partnerships, James Creak, said the deal was a great example of the kind of partner the Club wants standing alongside it.

“The Tasmania Devils are being built to reflect the values, pride and character of Tasmania, and this partnership with Cadbury embodies that vision," Creak said.

"Cadbury has been woven into the lives of Tasmanian families for generations, and as we build this club, we aspire to earn that same sense of trust, connection and belonging across the state.

“We're proud to have a partner who understands that backing this club isn't just a commercial decision, it's an investment in the pride and identity of the whole state.”

The club looks forward to sharing more on the Cadbury partnership, including community and supporter initiatives, as it builds towards AFL and AFLW entry in 2028.

Cadbury sources around 100 million litres of fresh Tasmanian milk each year from 48 local family farms, approximately 10 per cent of the state’s milk supply.

Mondelēz International employs around 700 people across Claremont and Burnie and has invested more than $250 million in the Claremont site, supporting local manufacturing, capability and innovation.
