The Tasmania Devils have today announced a six-year partnership with Tasmanian-founded AI infrastructure company Firmus Technologies, naming Firmus as a Foundation Major Partner for the club.
As part of the deal, Firmus becomes the club’s Official Coaches and Shorts Partner, with its branding featured on the Coaches uniform and on the playing shorts of the club’s AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW teams.
Founded in Tasmania in 2019, Firmus designs and builds the data centre infrastructure that powers AI systems, growing from a small team in Launceston into one of Australia's fastest growing AI infrastructure companies.
The agreement will also see Firmus and the Devils work together to support community initiatives across Tasmania, with programs to be developed by the two organisations in the coming months. Specific programs and delivery timing will be confirmed as they are finalised.
Tasmania's CEO Brendon Gale said the support Firmus is providing is valuable in ensuring sustained growth for the club.
“This is a significant moment for the club to have a partner committing to us for six years," Gale said.

“We have seen a great level of commercial confidence and support from businesses from all kinds of industries, and partners are recognising the unique story we can offer on a national scale.

Firmus remains deeply connected to Tasmania, with multiple sites and many people who helped build the company based in the north of the state.
Firmus Co-Founder and Co-CEO Oliver Curtis explained the decision to partner with the Devils.
“Tasmania gave us our start, so backing a new Tasmanian initiative that’s going to go national, just like us, felt like a natural fit,” said Curtis.
“Backing the club and the important role they play in the community is one of the ways we are giving back, and we're looking forward to seeing that support help to make a lasting difference for communities right across the state."
