Former Gold Coast and GWS midfielder Claire Ransom has returned home to Tasmania, committing to the Devils ahead of the upcoming VFLW season.
Originally from Hobart, Ransom returns to Tasmania after recently announcing her retirement from the AFLW.
A proud product of the Tasmania Devils pathway, Ransom played two games for the Suns before joining the GIANTS ahead of the 2024 season.
The 22-year-old featured in 11 games for the GIANTS across two seasons to take her AFLW career tally to 13 games.
Tasmania’s VFLW coach, Georgia Walker, said the Devils were thrilled to acquire more homegrown talent ahead of their inaugural season.
“Adding another local product to our emerging group is extremely exciting and we can’t wait to welcome Claire back home,” Walker said.
“I worked closely with Claire at the GIANTS, and there’s no doubt her experience and professionalism will have a positive impact on our young group this season.”
The Devils will create history on Saturday, May 16, playing host to the Southport Sharks (VFL) and Casey Demons (VFLW) at North Hobart Oval.
