Georgia Walker has named an unchanged line-up for Saturday’s clash with Darebin at UTAS Stadium.
After competitive performances against Casey and Port Melbourne in their opening two games, the Devils were soundly beaten by the premiers of the past two seasons, North Melbourne at North Hobart Oval last weekend.
“This week will definitely be a core focus on our defence and ability to win more one on ones,” Devils’ coach Georgia Walker said.
“We’ve had [weekly] changes positionally and from a selection point of view as well so we are still looking for that right dynamic.
“The best part is they are keen to learn, and they are very competitive individuals and they want that success.”
While the Devils are acclimatising to the demands of the VFLW, Darebin has a rich history of winning premierships and producing star players including Australian Football Hall of Fame member Daisy Pearce.
“What that club has done to pave the way for where the [AFLW] competition is now is incredible,” Walker said.
“We are both fighting for our first win so we can’t expect it to be easy at all.
“It will be a really good challenge.”
The VFL game is scheduled for 12:05pm on Saturday, with the VFLW clash to follow at 3:35pm.
