Tasmania will shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health when they host their inaugural Mental Health Match at North Hobart Oval on Saturday, July 11.
The initiative has been developed by Tasmania’s People and Culture Assistant, Ryan Wiggins, who was left with quadriplegia after a near-fatal incident five years ago.

Tasmania will partner with leading mental health organisations for the Mental Health Match, with proceeds from the day supporting Beyond Blue, Lifeline and Stay Chatty, who work to promote positive mental health and prevent suicide by reducing stigma and encouraging people to seek help across Tasmania.
The Mental Health Match aims to encourage people to reflect on the support networks around them and remind the community that no one should face life's challenges alone.
Throughout the day, supporters will be invited to engage with a range of activations focused on connection, wellbeing and community, while learning more about the services available to those who may be struggling.
As part of the initiative, the Devils will also launch a limited-edition range of merchandise, which will be available on the day, with proceeds contributing to the fundraising effort and helping spark important conversations about mental health both on and off the field.
Wiggins said the club was proud to be using their platform to help raise awareness and support organisations making a genuine difference across Tasmania.
"The Mental Health Match is an opportunity to remind everyone that connection matters," Wiggins said.
"Mental health affects people from all walks of life, and through the theme 'Stronger Together, Who's In Your Huddle?' we want to encourage people to reach out, check in on those around them and know thatthey always have support.”
Fans are encouraged to wear Fluro Green, get behind the cause and join the Devils for a day that celebrates the power of community, connection and conversation.
Further details regarding match-day activities, fundraising initiatives and merchandise will be announced in the lead-up to the event.
Through the theme "Stronger Together – Who's In Your Huddle?", the Devils are calling on communities across Tasmania to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in a huddle.
From weekend sport to workplaces and classrooms, the initiative aims to highlight the importance of connection and remind people that support is often found in the people around us.
