There will be a finals-like atmosphere when the Devils celebrate Member Appreciation Round at North Hobart Oval on Saturday.

In Tasmania’s last VFL and VFLW doubleheader for 2026, both teams will be put to the test against top four opponents.

The men will kick off proceedings against Werribee from 11:05am, followed by the women taking on Carlton from 2:35pm.

Devils forward Jed Hagan said the players are looking forward to a big home crowd on Saturday.

“There's a lot of excitement at the club, there’s a fair bit on the line,” Hagan said.

“Our fans have been awesome all year and have really turned out for our first season.

"Hopefully we can get a great crowd down at North Hobart to support both the men and women.”

Tasmania is sixth on the VFL ladder following last week’s 30-point victory against Sydney at Tramway Oval.

Hagan kicked a bag of five goals in the win, complemented by vice-captain Jye Menzie who booted four majors of his own.

But in the Devils’ penultimate game of the home-and-away season this Saturday, they will be up against arguably the form team of the competition, Werribee.

The two teams have history after their unforgettable encounter back in round 7 ended in a draw.

The second-placed Tigers have won their last nine games in a row since that match, but Hagan is confident they will rise to the challenge.

“Our game’s been in pretty good order for the last six weeks. We know it stacks up in big matches,” he said.

“There's a fair bit of confidence amongst the group that our game is good enough to match it with the best. We want to play the best teams and Werribee are right up there, so the boys will be ready to go.”

Tasmania can all but secure a historic finals berth with a win on Saturday.

While the Devils’ full focus is on the task at hand against the Tigers, they are not shying away from the possibility of making the top 10 in their first season.

“You're obviously going to think about finals and the expectation that comes with that,” Hagan said.

"We’re not going to shy away from it; we’re embracing the next few weeks. That obviously starts this weekend against Werribee.”

The VFLW team will also be aiming to keep its finals chances alive later in the afternoon.

Tasmania is heading into Saturday’s game with momentum after the largest win in the team’s short history.

The eighth-placed Devils defeated Essendon by 40 points at Windy Hill last week and have found form at the right time of year with four wins from their past six matches.

Their most realistic pathway to making the top six is by winning their last four games of the season, but an in-form Carlton side will pose a challenge this weekend.

The Blues are currently in fourth on the ladder and have won their last four games in a row.

Tasmania key forward Ava Read will head into the match with confidence after kicking a season-high five goals against the Bombers last week.

Former GWS Giants Academy product Ellie Hall has also continued her strong form by being the Devils’ leading disposal-getter in each of their past three games with 20 or more touches.

Coach Georgia Walker will need to make at least one forced change after Libby Haines ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament last week.

The VFLW and VFL games will both be shown live on Channel 7 and Kayo.
