Tasmanian Duo Named For VFL Debut

Tasmania will unveil two debutants in Sydney this weekend.

Jeromey Webberley will unveil another two debutants this weekend, with Lucas Wootton and Josh Wolfe both named to debut in Sunday’s clash with GWS at Tom Wills Oval.

A proud product of the Tasmania Devils pathway, Wootton is one of Tasmania’s top young prospects, having represented the U16 All-Australian side in 2023.

Known for his versatility, the 19-year-old has consistently showcased his diverse skillset and clean skills, playing across a range of positions throughout his junior career.

Originally from Launceston, Wooton relocated to Hobart earlier this year to further his football ambitions with the Devils, joining Clarence in the SFL, where he has kicked 19 goals from 11 games and been named among the best players on six occasions.

A premiership player with the Burnie Dockers, Wolfe has earned his VFL debut after an impressive season with North Hobart in the SFL, registering 18 goals from just nine games.

Known for his ability to find the goals, Wolfe starred for Wynyard in the NWFL last season, kicking 35 goals from 15 games for the Cats.

Harry Brereton (shoulder) and Cam Owen (groin) will both miss Sunday’s encounter through injury.
