Georgia Walker will lead the Tasmania Devils VFLW program for a second season after re-signing for the 2027 season.

Tasmania is proud to announce that VFLW Head Coach Georgia Walker has re-signed for 2027, continuing in her role at the Club.

Walker joined the Devils from the GWS GIANTS, where she held roles including Head of Development, Head of Academy, and AFLW Assistant Coach, before moving to Tasmania in December 2025 to help build the Club’s inaugural list.

“I’m really excited to sign on for the 2027 season!” Walker said.

“We’ve had such an exciting season in 2026, and I truly believe we’re just scratching the surface for what this group can achieve.

“I love Tassie, I love what this Club stands for and I’m so passionate about building a strong foundation for a successful future… this is the place to be!”

Walker led the Devils to eighth place in their inaugural 2026 VFLW season, just two places shy of a finals berth.

The brand of football that she implemented was exciting, and focused on fast ball movement, while fostering a strong sense of connection within the VFLW program.

There were many strong performances throughout the year that showed the character of the team Walker helped build, most notably the Club’s first win on the road against Sandringham and their last-quarter comeback win on the North-West Coast against Box Hill in Penguin.

Head of Football Operations at the Devils Aaron Pidgeon was proud of the growth the program had in 2026, and is glad Walker is leading the VFLW side in 2027.

“Georgia has been central to setting the culture and standards of our VFLW program from day one,” Pidgeon said.

“She's developed players, built a brand of football our supporters enjoy, and laid strong foundations for the pathway into the AFLW.

"We're delighted she'll continue to lead the group in 2027.”

Pre-season for the VFLW program gets underway in November and list changes relating to the squad will be communicated over the coming months.

Further list and pre-season updates will be shared via the Club’s website and social media channels.
