Community submissions for the Devils’ official song open will open Wednesday 28 October.
From the rugged West Coast to the shores of the East, there’s a pride in Tasmania that connects us wherever life takes us.
Now, the Devils are inviting the community to turn that pride into our official club song, one that belongs to an entire island and brings us together, from the change rooms to the shack and far beyond our shores.
Unmistakably Ours:
We’re calling on musicians, songwriters and storytellers from every corner of the map to help capture the heart of this football club and Tasmania.
We’re looking for a song with pride, passion and a bit of Tassie spirit.
A song that Honours the Map and Inspires the Future.
Before putting pen to paper or picking up an instrument, here’s what to keep in mind:
- Make it catchy and easy to sing - Memorable, upbeat and easy to learn, with words and a melody that bring people together.
- Capture Tasmania - Reflect our identity, football heritage and island spirit, including what it means to Honour the Map and Inspire the Future.
- Make it timeless and inclusive - Rousing, authentic and something players and supporters of all ages can proudly sing now and into the future!
- Keep it simple and authentic - Avoid anything overly complicated, gimmicky or corporate. Let our character shine through.
How Submissions Will Be Judged:
Every submission will be assessed against five equally weighted criteria, each worth 20%:
- Singability: Easy to learn, remember and sing together.
- Emotional connection: Creates pride, passion and a sense of belonging.
- Reflecting Tasmania: Authentically captures our character, identity, stories and spirit.
- Originality: Distinctive and memorable, with a character of its own.
- First impression: Makes an immediate impact and leaves you wanting to hear and sing it again.
