Tasmania has bolstered its midfield with the signing of George Stevens, securing one of the VFL’s standout performers for 2027.

Stevens joins the Devils following three seasons with Geelong, bringing AFL experience and a proven ability to make an impact at VFL level.

The powerful midfielder enjoyed an outstanding 2026 campaign, averaging 30 disposals and kicking 13 goals across 16 home-and-away appearances, earning selection in the VFL Team of the Year.

His consistency was recognised with a share of the J.J. Liston Trophy as the competition’s best and fairest player, alongside Geelong’s VFL best and fairest award.

Originally from South Warrnambool, Stevens was selected by Geelong with pick No.58 in the 2023 AFL National Draft.

The 21-year-old made his AFL debut against Richmond in Round 17, 2025, and went on to play four senior games during his time at the Cats.

Stevens’ strength around the contest and prolific ball-winning ability will add further depth to Tasmania’s midfield as the Devils prepare for their second VFL season.
