A trio of Tasmania Devils will don the famous Big V this weekend, with final squads confirmed for the representative clashes between the VFL and the SANFL as part of the AFL’s Gather Round.
The best of the Smithy’s VFLW and VFL competitions will go head-to-head with their SANFL counterparts in a blockbuster double-header at Glenelg’s Stratarama Stadium on Saturday, April 11.
The women’s match will get underway at 12:00pm ACST, followed by the men’s clash at 2:30pm ACST.
The 23-player Smithy’s VFLW State Team features one Devils representative, with Gabbi Featherston selected to pull on the Big V.
Tasmania coach Georgia Walker has also been recognised, earning selection as an assistant coach for the side.
In the 25-player Smithy’s VFL State Team, two Devils have been named to represent Victoria.
Hugh Dixon returns to the line-up after previously featuring in 2024, while Jed Hagan has been rewarded for his strong form with a maiden VFL State Team selection.
Both Big V squads will finalise preparations with training sessions at Sandringham’s Wilson Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Tuesday and Thursday, before travelling to South Australia on Friday afternoon.
