Defender Jessie Williams will miss the remainder of VFLW season after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament during Sunday’s clash with Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium.
Williams was assisted from the field following a tackling attempt in the first quarter, with scans revealing the unfortunate news of an ACL injury for the veteran.
Tasmania’s Head of Football Operations, Aaron Pidgeon, said the club was shattered for Williams and will be supporting her through her rehabilitation.
“We’re absolutely shattered for her,” Pidgeon said.
"She’s an outstanding character and we have no doubt she will attack her rehab with the same professionalism she brings to our VFLW program.
“We will all be behind her every step of the way during her recovery and she’ll continue play to a pivotal role for the club off the field for the remainder of the season.”
