Solstice Energy has been announced as the Tasmania Devils' Official Energy Partner, signing a four-year agreement to support the club's journey towards entering the AFL and AFLW competitions in 2028.
This partnership unites two proud Tasmanian originals, each driven to create something meaningful for the state they call home.
The Devils are building Tasmania’s AFL team, while Solstice Energy is giving Tasmanians a local choice in energy.
Tasmania's CEO Brendon Gale said Solstice Energy’s local history, challenger mindset and commitment to creating opportunities across the community made it a natural partner for the Devils.
“We are building a club that belongs to all Tasmanians and want partners who share that ambition," he said.
"Solstice Energy started here, understands Tasmania and is prepared to do things differently.
“Our shared commitment to the Tasmanian community and to delivering practical value for our club members makes this a partnership that will have an impact well beyond the boundary.”
Formerly Tas Gas, Solstice Energy has served Tasmania for over 20 years and now supplies both electricity and gas to Tasmanian homes and businesses.
Solstice Energy CEO, Phaedra Deckart, said the partnership reflected the shared ambition of the two organisations.
“Few partnerships feel as natural as this one," Deckart said.
"The Devils are building something Tasmania has waited a long time for, while Solstice Energy is giving Tasmanians a genuine local choice in energy.
"We both started here, we are both prepared to challenge established players, and we both want our success to create value for Tasmania.
“What makes this partnership especially important is what it can deliver off the field.
"Together, we will create practical perks for Devils members and new opportunities for women across football, from playing and coaching to leadership.
"We are genuinely excited to be part of the Devils’ journey to 2028 and beyond.”
While Solstice Energy will be supporting the club on the field, they are equally committed to levelling the playing field off it – backing the Devils’ commitment to the game beyond match day.
They will support the Devils in creating real pathways and opportunity for women across the game, investing in women at every level of football, including on the field, in coaching, and in leadership.
Having already supported the Devils with their International Women’s Day event, Solstice Energy and the club are working together on a new pathways program to support the development of coaching talent in the state.
This partnership also sees Solstice Energy deliver practical, everyday perks for Devils members, with exclusive electricity offers and discounts to be provided in the coming months.
