Tasmania’s inaugural Best and Fairest winner Hugh Dixon has recommitted to the Devils for the 2027 VFL season.
Dixon’s commitment follows an outstanding inaugural campaign in Devils colours, capped by his historic recognition as the club’s first VFL Best and Fairest winner.
Returning home to Tasmania following a standout season with Southport in 2025, the 27-year-old quickly established himself as a key figure in Jeromey Webberley’s side.
Dixon played all 18 home-and-away matches, kicking 32 goals while averaging 14.8 disposals, 2.6 contested marks and 1.8 goals per game.
His strong marking and presence in attack helped the Devils reach the finals in their inaugural season, with his individual highlights including a five-goal haul in Tasmania’s victory over Sandringham.
Dixon’s form also earned representative honours, joining teammate Jed Hagan in representing Victoria against South Australia earlier this year.
He capped his campaign by polling 241 votes to claim Tasmania’s inaugural VFL Best and Fairest, finishing ahead of Nick Williams on 234 and Brandon Leary on 233.
His contribution extended beyond his on-field performances, with Dixon also recognised alongside Grace White as a recipient of the club’s Stronger Together Award.
Dixon’s re-signing adds to a strong period of retention and recruitment for Tasmania, with Jye Menzie, Jed Hagan and Brandon Leary also recommitting, alongside the additions of former AFL-listed players George Stevens, Jack Williams and Xavier Walsh.
